Phivolcs just reported a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in the town of Sarangani in Davao Occidental this morning at 7:21 a.m.

Location of the quake has been determined to be 86 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It was tectonic in origin with a depth of 16 kilometers.

The following instrumental intensities have been reported:

Intensity V: General Santos City, South Cotabato.

Intensity IV: Kiamba, Alabel, Maasim, Glan, Malungon and Malapatan in Sarangani, as well as in Lebak in Sultan Kudarat, Datu Blah Sinsuat in Maguindanao, and Koronadal City,  Polomolok, Tampakan and Tupi in South Cotabato.

Intensity III: Maitum, Sarangani; Cotabato City, Maguindanao; Davao City; Kidapawan City, North Cotabato; Tantangan and Santo Nino, South Cotabato.

Intensity II: Columbio, Sultan Kudarat; Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat; and Magpet, North Cotabato.

Intensity I: Zamboanga City.

Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks. There have been no reports of damages.
