At around 1:30 early this morning of Saturday a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Northern Samar. It has a depth of 20 kilometers off the town of Pambujan.
The tremor was felt all the way in Virac, Catanduanes which recorded intensity III and in Legazpi City and Sorsogon City which both recorded an intensity of II on the seismic scale.
Intensity I was reported in Daet in Camarines Norte, Pili in Camarines Sur, Borongan City in Eastern Samar and Cebu City.
Aftershocks can be expected according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
