While the nation is celebrating the 122nd Anniversary of the Philippine Independence, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake shakes the province of Davao Occidental anew.

The quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) at 4:23 a.m. and the center was plotted to be 149 kilometers southeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental. It has a depth of 109 kilometers.

Before this at 12:21 past midnight, another 4.0 magnitude earthquake was registered at the same town and province. This time it was 399 kilometers southeast of Sarangani with a depth of 292 kilometers.

Both were tectonic in origin and no aftershocks were reported. There were also no reports of any damages.
