This morning at 12:20 a.m., a magnitude 4.0 earthquake was reported in the province of Davao Oriental. The report came from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) and plotted the epicenter to be 22 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town in Davao Oriental.

It had a depth of 114 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage or injury were reported by the regional office of the Southern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Davao Occidental provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC).

Before this at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday, a magnitude 4.5 earthquake has also been recorded in the area with the epicenter located at 240 kilometers southeast of Sarangani in Davao Occidental. It has a depth of 33 kilometers and was also reported to be tectonic in origin.
