Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 struck early morning today off the waters of Surigao del Sur.

The quake struck at 7:08 a.m. and was deemed to have hit some 105 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan. It has a depth of 16 kilometers.

Another tremor was felt at around 7:13 a.m. that originated about 110 kilometers northeast of the same area.

Both were determined by Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) as tectonic in origin.

No damage to property are not expected but aftershocks are expected to occur.
