Monday afternoon wasn’t the same for residents in Occidental Mindoro as magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolts them. Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported the tremor as tectonic in origin and hit at 3:22 p.m.

It struck some 16 kilometers northwest of Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro and had a depth of 106 kilometers.

It was felt as Intensity 3 in Puerto Galera and Oriental Mindoro and Intensity 2 in Quezon City, Batangas City; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Tagaytay City; and Magalang, Pampanga.

There may be aftershocks but no damage has been reported.
