A quake with a magnitude of 6 was just reported off the coast of Davao Oriental today.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) determined the time of the tremor at 5:11 p.m. some 135 kilometers southeast of the town of Governor Generoso in the said region.
The quake had a depth of focus of 143 kilometers and determined to be tectonic in origin.
The following intensities have been reported:
Intensity IV – Malungon, SARANGANI; Sarangani and Don Marcelino, DAVAO OCCIDENTAL; CITY OF DAVAO

Intensity III – City of Digos, Sta. Cruz and Matanao, DAVAO DEL SUR; City of Tagum, DAVAO DEL NORTE; Nabunturan and Pantukan, DAVAO DE ORO; Glan, SARANGANI; Tupi and City of Koronadal, SOUTH COTABATO; Lutayan, SULTAN KUDARAT
Intensity II – Magsaysay, DAVAO DEL SUR; CITY OF GENERAL SANTOS; Malapatan, Alabel, and Kiamba, SARANGANI; Tampakan and Banga SOUTH COTABATO; Polomolok, Tantangan, Surallah, and Santo Niño, SOUTH COTABATO
Intensity I – President Quirino, Columbio, Isulan, Lambayong, and Senator Ninoy Aquino, SULTAN KUDARAT; Lake Sebu and Norala, SOUTH COTABATO
Aftershocks are to be expected but no damage had been reported so far.
