A magnitude 5.4 earthquake has been reported just at noon today off the shore of Cagayan.
The quake struck at 12:36 p.m. with its epicenter located 16 kilometers northwest of Dalupiri Island in the municipality of Calayan.
It has a depth of 36 kilometers and was tectonic in origin according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The following intensities has been recorded:
Intensity V was felt in Calayan.
Intensity IV was felt in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity II in Paoay, also in Ilocos Norte.
There were no damages but aftershocks could occur at any time.
