This morning at 3:13 am, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was felt in Davao Occidental. The quake was tectonic in origin and was reported to be 417 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It has a depth of 130 kilometers.

The following intensities were recorded:

Intensity I – General Santos; Kiamba, Sarangani; Koronadal City
Intensity II – Tupi, South Cotabato; Alabel and Malungon, Sarangani

No damages were reported and Phivolcs did not warn of any aftershocks.

Lately, the region of Mindanao has been experiencing tremors the latest just yesterday in the province of South Cotabato registering 4.5 in magnitude.
