
Just about an hour ago a magnitude 6.1 struck off Davao Occidental. The quake was felt at exactly 10:02 this morning with the epicenter located 126 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town.

It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 14 kilometers. The tremor was felt in Kidapawan City and Davao City which registered as Intensity III there.
Shaking was also reported to have been felt in the following areas: Kiamba and Alabel, Sarangani; General Santos City; Tupi, South Cotabato; Gingoog City; Bislig City; and Cagayan de Oro City.
So far no damage were reported and no aftershocks are expected according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs).
