Be wary of some sites that parade as legitimate government sites such as the one shown below. At first glance you’ll instantly believe it to be that of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology but you take a closer look it’s fake.

For one it’s Twitter handle isn’t that of the official Phivolcs site which is @phivolcs_dost.

Second the logo is actually a lot different. The official site is black and blue with the name of the institute underneath while the fake one is black and green with no institute name underneath.

Third, upon checking the news on the internet there were never a mention of an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in Laguna. Always double check every information you get and don’t just believe and accept everything on social media. Always be vigilant so you won’t fall victim.
