A magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted residents in Zamboanga del Norte early this morning of Monday, June 15. The quake occurred at 6:29 a.m. with the epicenter found to be 35 kilometers northeast of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)  it was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 25 kilometers.

No damages were reported and no aftershocks are expected.
