A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck the province of Surigao del Sur early this morning at 6:52 a.m. It has a depth of 1 kilometer and struck 117 kilometers northeast of Bayabas town.

Prior to that a magnitude 4.2 tremor hit the area yesterday evening at 10:51 p.m. It struck 93 kilometers northeast of the same town. It has a depth of 21 kilometers.

No damages or aftershocks were reported.
