A magnitude 5 quake shook parts of Davao Occidental this Tuesday morning according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor was located some 5 kilometers southwest of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental and was recorded at 5:15 a.m.

Phivolcs determined the origin to be tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of 169 kilometers.

The intensity was later downgraded to magnitude 4.8.

No damage was reported but aftershocks may be expected according to Phivolcs.
