A magnitude 5 tremor has been reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in Davao Occidental Thursday night.

The quake which struck at 9:46 in the evening was tectonic in origin according to the agency and was located 212 kilometers southeast of Sarangani Island.

The magnitude was then lowered to magnitude 4.5 and had a depth of focus of 81 kilometers.

There were no damage and aftershocks expected.
