A magnitude 5.2 earthquake surprised the people of Looc town in Oriental Mindoro. The quake struck at 4:06 a.m. early this Saturday morning.

It has a depth of 12 kilometers and is tectonic in origin. The following instrumental intensities were recorded:

Intensity IV – Calatagan, Batangas;  Tagaytay City, Cavite

Intensity III – Carmona, Cavite;  Marilao, Bulacan,  Talisay, Batangas

Intensity II – Plaridel, Malolos City, Calumpit, and San Rafael, Bulacan; Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Bacoor City; Marikina City; Muntinlupa City;  Las Pinas City; Quezon City

No damages were reported but according to PHIVOLCS there might be aftershocks.
