An earthquake was reported in Mindanao late Monday. The quake which registered at 5.7 in the Richter Scale struck Kadingilan town in Bukidnon at 10:38 p.m.

PHIVOLCS determined the quake to be tectonic in origin with a depth of three kilometers.

The following intensities have been recorded:

  • Intensity V – Kadingilan, Damulog, Don Carlos, Bukidnon; Wao, Lanao del Sur
  • Intensity IV – Kalilangan, Kitaotao, Pangantucan, Kibawe, Maramag, Quezon, and Talakag, Bukidnon; Cotabato City; Marawi City; Marantao, Lanao del Sur;
  • Cagayan de Oro City
  • Intensity III – Pagadian City; Davao City
  • Intensity II – Arakan, Banisilan and M’lang, Cotabato; Kidapawan City; Dipolog City; Datu Piang, Maguindanao; Bayugan, Agusan del Sur; Opol, Misamis
  • Oriental; Monkayo, Davao Oriental
  • Intensity I- Mambajao, Camiguin

Another tremor was felt at 10:49 with a magnitude of 5.2 at the same location. It had a depth of two kilometers and was again tectonic in origin.

The following areas reported having felt the tremor:

  • Intensity IV – Kadingilan, Dangcagan and Damulog, Bukidnon
  • Intensity III – Valencia City and Kitaotao, Bukidnon; Cagayan de Oro City; Pikit, Cotabato; City of Iligan
  • Intensity II – Kidapawan City; Cotabato City; Wao, Lanao del Sur

According to PHIVOLCS aftershocks and damages to properties may be expected.
