A magnitude 4.8 earthquake just occurred in Batanes. Epicenter is located 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Itbayat. Tremor was felt at 1:07 this afternoon with a depth of 25 kilometers. Philvolcs said it was tectonic in origin.
Last July about 3 earthquakes hit the small island that caused some structures made of limestone to collapse with some injured and 9 dead.
