At 5:54 this afternoon, a magnitude 5.4 earthquake was reported in Davao area. The quake struck 35 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental.

The quake was tectonic in origin and had a dept of 190 kilometers.

The following intensities were reported:

Reported Intensity III – General Santos City; Tupi and Polomolok, South Cotabato; Alabel, Saranggani
Reported Intensity II – Maasin and Malapatan, Sarangani; Davao City
Reported Intensity I – Tampakan, South Cotabato
Instrumental Intensity IV – General Santos City
Instrumental Intensity III – Kiamba, Alabel and Malungon, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato
Instrumental Intensity I – Kidapawan City and Koronadal City

According to Phivolcs aftershocks might occur.
