A magnitude 5.2 earthquake rocked a town in Davao Oriental Thursday evening.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake was tectonic in origin and occurred at 9:13 p.m.

It had a depth of 130 kilometers and struck offshore in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The following intensities were recorded:

Intensity III – Governor Generoso, City of Davao, Mati City, San Isidro and BanayBanay, Davao Oriental; General Santos City and Tupi, South Cotabato; Arakan, Cotabato; Alabel and Malapatan, Sarangani

Intensity II – Tampakan and Polomolok, South Cotabato; Maco, Mawab, Monkayo, and Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; Glan and Kiamba, Sarangani; Lupon, Manay, and Tarragona, Davao Oriental

Intensity I – Caraga, Baganga, Cateel, and Boston, Davao Oriental; Maasim and Maitum, Sarangani

Phivolcs said there were no reports of damages, but aftershocks are to be expected.
