A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the island of Catanduanes early this morning at 2:04 am.

The epicenter was found to be located 51 kilometers northeast of Panganiban, Catanduanes. It has a depth of 31 kilometers and is tectonic in origin according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor was felt all the way to Legazpi City in Albay. No damages were reported but aftershocks are to be expected.
