At 11:39 pm last night, Jan. 13, a magnitude 4 earthquake was felt in the province of Batangas and even to some parts of Metro Manila.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin which means it did not come from the movement of lava in Taal Volcano and had a dept of 10 kilometers. It struck 6 kilometers northwest of Agoncillo town which is near the volcano though.

A few hours after this a 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck anew but this one was volcanic in origin which was felt at 2:05 this morning with a depth of 6 kilometers northeast of Talisay town.

Following were the intensities felt in different provinces:

Intensity II – Malabon City and Pasay City
Intensity III – Tagaytay City
Intensity IV – Tagaytay City and Cavite
