The tremor that was felt in the whole Metro area came from the province of Quezon. A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Burdeos, Quezon according to United States Geological Survey or USGS. Other reports put it to around magnitude 5.5. The intensity felt in the capital was between III to IV.
The quake prompted offices and schools within the Metro Manila area and outlying provinces to be evacuated.
