A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Eastern Samar early Tuesday morning. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), pinpointed the location to be in General Macarthur.

The quake hit at 1:10 in the morning with a depth of 57 kilometers.

It was felt in Hernani, and Quinapondan, Eastern Samar; Pastrana, Palo and Tacloban City, Leyte.
