The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a magnitude 5.1 quake occurring in the province of Sarangani.

According to the bureau the tremor struck 78 kilometers southwest of Sarangani Island at 7:48 this evening.

It had a depth of 10 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks.
