Thursday morning gave residents of Davao Oriental a rude awakening at 5:57 when a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit near Manay municipality.

The quake which is tectonic in origin has a depth of 58 kilometers.

According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) , there were no damages to infrastructures and no aftershocks were expected.
